feddit.nz runs using lemmy which is part of the fediverse.
The intention is to focus on New Zealand communities and interests while still being connected to the rest of lemmy and the fediverse. If you choose to pick feddit.nz as your home instance you will not only be able to post in communities here but in other lemmy instances as well.
As a platform engineer myself I hope to bring a smooth experience with feddit.nz with minimal downtime and regular backups and updates.
Currently creating communities is restricted to admin only. I am open to suggestions on what communities to create with the obvious ones being for cities/regions such as Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
Sounds good to me. Maybe NZ gardening, I was a member on Reddit. Good food places to go for tourists. NZ politics and memes. Bit of fun.

Memes and politics are good ideas as well but might leave it for a bit as I know other communities cover them currently. Unless things really pick up here of course.
